Google Maps launches its first Fan-Favorite Dining List across 10 global cities

Google Maps has published its first Fan-Favorite Dining List, using activity on the platform to highlight food trends and popular restaurants across 10 cities. The inaugural edition covers Atlanta, Chicago, London, Melbourne, Montréal, New York, San Francisco, Santiago, Seattle and Tokyo.

The list draws on Google Maps reviews, ratings and aggregated searches for directions. It is designed as a data-led guide rather than a critic-selected restaurant ranking. Users can explore the full collection online and save the featured lists in Google Maps for future trips.

    What Google Maps data shows

Google says mentions of frozen yogurt in New York reviews rose 320% year on year, while cinnamon bun mentions in Montréal increased 84% and mochi mentions in Tokyo climbed 168%. Matcha recorded double-digit growth in nearly all 10 cities, including gains of 82% in Chicago and 84% in Santiago.
